My experience offering end-to-end services in the Actuarial & Data Science domain and mentoring young aspirants in pursuing actuarial and financial analyst studies for the last eight years has made me realise that there are two big gaps in the existing education system.
First, every year students pursuing professional courses have to pursue dual education streams; one for their degree college and another for professional qualifications. Since a large number of professional courses are undertaken via distance learning, it leads to students having poor interpersonal skills and missing the entire advantage of classroom education.
Secondly, I see a lack of quality Bachelor’s and Master’s options available which would give the students an edge in their technical career. A need to prepare them for their future in keeping with all the developments happening around us led me start the Institute of Actuarial and Quantitative Studies.
At IAQS, the courses have been developed to sync education with the realities of the industry and compliment professional qualifications. They are designed to impart knowledge coupled with holistic development.
