About the Program
The program is based on three prominent fields:
Actuarial Science deals with evaluating risks and maintaining the economic stability of insurance or financial organisations. Actuarial Studies graduates learn how to use Mathematics, Statistics, and Probability principles to anticipate future events and take preventive measures.
The ability to look at data, understand it, process it, extract value from it, visualize it and communicate it sums up the role of a data scientist in the simplest of terms. Data science is a multidisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data.
The use of mathematical models and extremely large datasets to analyze financial markets and securities. A company may. Common examples include (1) the pricing of derivative securities such as options, and (2) risk management, especially as it relates to portfolio management applications.

In this semester, students will learn about risk modelling, mortality tables and how one can make the mortality tables fit for industrial use. It introduces one to the primary and secondary financial market.
Students will also develop an understanding of the workings of competitive markets and behaviour of consumers. Concluding the semester, the students would get a first-hand experience by solving business problems.
